Given the political push and pull over the U.S. Post Office, I thought I’d check with Astoria Postmaster Phil Padfield on behalf of people who will need to mail in their ballots for the November 3 election. I asked him when they should be posted to be sure they arrive in time to be counted. Here is Mr. Padfield’s response:
“If it were I, I would mail ballots at least 3 – 5 days prior. The influx of ballots going into the plants will be much higher this year compared with prior years. All ballots are processed through Portland. Hope this helps.”
