The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will have a contractor performing smoke testing at 70 W. Marine Dr. The testing will begin on Monday, February 14, 2022. The information gained from smoke testing in this location will help DEQ gather information about the storm drainage system.
A special, non-toxic smoke will be used in these tests. The smoke is manufactured for this purpose, leaves no residuals or stains, and has no effect on plant or animal life. The smoke has a distinctive, but not unpleasant, odor. Visibility and odor only last a few minutes where there is adequate ventilation. Please avoid unnecessary exposure to the smoke. While relatively harmless, it may cause irritation to nasal passages.
If you have any questions, please contact Ryan Lewis, P.E., Project Engineer at Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc., at (971) 254-8072.
