Emergency Repair Timeline, Traffic Impacts and Details
Starting the week of April 11th, the City of Astoria and its contractor, Big River Construction, Inc., will be performing a complex, emergency repair to a sanitary sewer main at the intersection of 10th St. and Commercial St. This will result in the closure of 10th St. at Commercial St. Impacts to traffic on Commercial St. (Highway 30) will be minimal.
The work is anticipated to take 3 days. Preparation for the work will take place on April 6th. The project will consist of setting traffic control, and repairing a section of the sanitary sewer main. Repaving and temporary striping will be scheduled at a later date.
Travelers are advised to approach the area with caution, obey all traffic control devices, be aware of equipment and workers adjacent to the roadway, and be prepared for traffic delays. In the event of inclement weather or mechanical failure, the construction schedule is subject to change.
